The UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) is a computer-based admissions test used by universities for medical and dental degree programmes.
If you're applying to UK medicine or dentistry through UCAS, your UCAT score can be an important part of the admissions process alongside your academic results and application.
Unlike school examinations, UCAT does not test biology, chemistry or other science content. Instead, it measures reasoning, decision-making, numerical ability and professional judgement under strict time pressure.
The current UCAT contains four separately timed subtests. The first three contribute to the cognitive total, while Situational Judgement is reported as a separate band.
