The GMAT Focus Edition introduced a shorter, more focused testing experience for MBA and graduate-management applicants. It assesses the reasoning skills needed to analyse information, solve quantitative problems and evaluate written arguments.
The current test has three separately timed sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Data Insights. Candidates can choose the order in which they take the sections, allowing preparation to be built around individual strengths and pacing preferences.
Unlike the previous GMAT format, the current test does not include an Analytical Writing Assessment. Data Insights is now a core scored section, making data interpretation and multi-source reasoning an important part of preparation.
The current GMAT consists of three 45-minute sections. Each section contributes to the overall score, and candidates can choose their section order.
