If you have a relative who
can sponsor you, and is one of the following :
An Australian citizen
An Australian permanent resident
An eligible New Zealand
Citizen.
Your relative/sponsor must be one of
the following :
Parent
Child
Brother/Sister
Uncle/Aunt
Niece/Nephew
Your eligible relative can
live anywhere in Australia
Specific requirements for
applicants with sponsors who live in Sydney, Wollongong,
Gosford or Newcastle
If you are applying for a Skilled –
Australian Sponsored (subclass 138) visa and your sponsor is
living in Sydney, Gosford, Newcastle or Wollongong
:
Nominate an occupation that
is on the Sydney and Selected Areas Skilled Shortage
List. The Sydney and Selected Areas Skilled Shortage
List lists skilled occupations where there is a demand
in Sydney, Gosford, Newcastle or Wollongong, for people
with the necessary skill level to work in these
occupations. Your nominated occupation will need to be
on the Sydney and Selected Areas Skilled Shortage List
at the time the application is lodged and when it is
assessed
Provide evidence
that the relevant assessing authority has assessed your
skills in relation to your nominated occupation. The
Sydney and Selected Areas Skilled Shortage List also
provide detail on the relevant assessing body for each
listed occupation.
You will need at least 110 points to
meet the points test for this visa.
If you score below 105 points your
application will be refused.
If you score less than 110 points
but score at least 105 points, your application will be placed
in reserve (the 'pool') and will remain in the pool for two
years after assessment. If the pass mark is lowered at any
time during the two-year period, and your score is equal to or
higher than the new pass mark, your application will then be
processed further.
