State/Territory Nominated Independent

State and Territory governments can nominate you.
Participating State and Territory
governments are : -
South Australia,
Victoria
Tasmania and
Western Australia.
There are two stages to the process
to apply for a General Skilled Migration visa
Stage 1
You must meet a number of
requirements for your application to be considered by a
departmental officer. These requirements are referred to as
'validity requirements'. If you do not meet
the validity requirements, then under migration law you are
not taken to have made an application. If this happens in your
case, your papers and any payments made will be returned to
you.
Stage 2
You must meet all of the
requirements, which are listed for the visa that you are
seeking. These requirements are referred to as 'visa-specific
requirements'. These requirements must be met by you, and by
any one else included in your application, in order for your
application to successful and for you to be given the visa you
apply for.
To be able to migrate under
these skilled migration categories The basic requirements are
: -
You must be below 45 years
of age
Have good English (need to take the
IELTS test)
Your occupation must be in the 'Skilled
Occupation List' and successfully assessed by a skill
assessment body
You should have recent work
experience
Skilled
Independent
You could be able to apply under
this category, if you have scored a minimum of 70 points and
you are nominated by one of the state/territory governments.
To be eligible for nomination, your occupation must be in the
list most wanted by that state/territory. You would also need
to live in the state/territory that sponsors you for a period
of 2 years.
